An important Flemish oak carving of a "Sedes Sapientiae", where Mary is depicted seated, clad in a long robe with typical gothic folds, her long wavy hair flowing around her shoulders. The infant Jesus is seated upon her lap, his head slightly inclined to the left.
This statue reminds us of those depicted on the "Flemish Primitives" paintings from that era.
