Kazak, Moghan gebied - Runner - 485 cm - 120 cm

Description
Kazak, Moghan gebied - Runner - 485 cm - 120 cm
Wool on wool - Armenia - Early 20th century

Classic runner from the Moghan region, South Caucasus.
Antique piece, approx. 100–110 years old.
Very beautiful full pile, which is still high.
Tightly knotted, 300,000 knots per square metre.
Natural plant-based dyes.

The pattern is entirely classic: an uninterrupted row of octagons with that red and white strip in between. So-called Memling gulls inside the octagons. Ram's horn
Ornament. And inside this is an eight-pointed star of David.
The border is also typical for the region: so-called "barber pole" with stars in between on a rusty brown background. Lots of colours, yet still a calm image.

Braided warp threads and the tight, heavy knotting of the Kurdish nomads that also live here can be see at the bottom edge.

It appears longer than in reality due to the wide-angle lens.

Original and undamaged edges and ends.
It has not been washed yet, this would definitely be good for it, and would cost €100.00 extra.
