François Théodore Legras - Legras - Candy (1)

Description
François Théodore Legras - Legras - Candy (1)
France - 1890-1919 - Glass

Art Nouveau period, in perfect condition, rare sweet box with a pot-bellied base and a glass lid with painted and enamelled decoration, a brown and white snowy undergrowth on an orange background simulating the setting sun signed by the French master glassmaker François Theodore Legras ( 1839-1916) influenced by Émile Gallé. As he has spent his childhood in a small hamlet in the Vosges (French district), in open air, in the heart of the Darney forest, one of the most beautiful forests in France, which probably marked him and would be a source of inspiration for his creations focused on fauna, flora and especially on the landscapes of forests and lakes that punctuate the Valley of the Ourche (1st tributary of the Saône). Decor included in the reference book Legras, Verrier de M.F. Michel, J.F. Michel & D. & J. Vitrat, éditions Argus Valentines (2002). Secure shipping with tracking.
