Paul Edouard Delabrierre - Sculpture

Paul Edouard Delabrierre - Sculpture
France - 1890-1919 - Bronze, Marble

Large bronze sculpture with green patina depicting a couple of fawns walking side by side. One of the paws is marked "bronze."

The nuanced black and grey marble step terrace is signed by the animal artist/sculptor Paul-Edouard Delabrierre (hard to decipher!)

This French artist first studied painting with the painter Jean-Baptiste Delestre before turning to sculpture. He exhibited on a regular basis at the “Salon des Artistes Français” from 1848 to 1898 where he got an honourable mention in 1859.

An animal sculptor influenced by Antoine-Louis Barye, he almost exclusively makes groups or statuettes of animals.

Due to the weight of this sculpture, we prefer to use specialist carriers.
The delivery time may be longer (approx. 3 weeks, depending on the country, pay attention to the summer time!).
