BOSSOLI EDOARDO FRANCESCO
PANORAMA PRESO DALLA CUPOLA DI SUPERGA da E. F. Bossoli
Milan (1874?) - F.lli Tensi editori
1 volume (230 mm x 135 mm)
, (blank), a large plate 22 x 260 cm
Percaline binding with embossed lines and gold inscription on the front plate “AGLI ALPINISTI CONVENUTI AL VII CONGRESSO ITALIANO – LA SEZIONE DI TORINO AGOSTO 1874”. Two labels, a white circular one and a rectangular one with a handwritten note on the front plate.
Copy in excellent condition, including the large folded plate.
Magnificent and very rare document by Edoardo Francesco Bossoli (born in Lugano, but active mostly in Turin in the second half of the nineteenth century), nephew and collaborator of Carlo Bossoli. He is best remembered as the author of reproductions of large panoramas and photographs, as well as a journalist.
Not present in Ada Peyrot's bibliographies relating to the views of Turin.
Very decorative, detailed, and interesting image, which, opened, is over 2.5 metres long!
