Gilbert Decock was a Belgian artist who attended the Academy of Bruges He is a member of the movement of the constructivists. The pictorial essence in form and colour links the viewer to a pure inwardness, to a place of silence. Davies won the Europe Prize for painting (1966) and the prize of the city of Knokke (1967). His work is shown in the metro station Kunst-Wet in Brussels (1980), in the national collections "Het Prentenkabinet" in Brussels and in museums in Antwerp (Middelheim), Bruges, Brussels, Ghent, Kortrijk, Ostend, Dunkirk, and Utrecht. Gilbert Decock died in 2007 in Knokke.
