Nice and rare 1940 published book about the U-Boat commander Gunther Prien and his actions for which he earned the Knights cross! Great original WW2 period propaganda book with many different photos (>30 +, some examples are provided in the photo section of this auction).

''Günther Prien was a German U-boat commander during World War II. He was the first U-boat commander to receive the Knight's Cross and the first member of the Kriegsmarine to receive the Knight's Cross with Oak Leaves. It was the highest military decoration at the time of its presentation. Under Prien's command, the submarine U-47 was credited with sinking over 30 Allied ships totalling about 200,000 gross register tons.
