A very rare plot - It represents, as it were, an illustration to the troparion "The Only-Begotten Son of the Word of God" during the liturgy of St. John Chrysostom. I can take it very carefully, nevertheless, to the Ustyug-Solvychegodsk district, probably the 18th century, Perhaps Stroganov School - restored at the end of the 20th century
Antique Russian Icon School of the Moscow Golden Ring. Partially restored by masters of the Trinity Sergius Lavra - restored at the end of the 20th century
Icon after a slight renovation.
Tempera on a cedar board
dimensions 260 x 300 x 20 mm. The icon is drawn (when the icons do not say "drawn" - it says - "written" is an archaic relic) flat board.
top and bottom you can see was a wedge. These wedge are needed so that the board does not bend.
the icon is written on gold - the field of the icon is lined with the thinnest layers of gold.
The icon is written on gold leaf
on the edges there is gesso
The gesso requires more time to harden. Otherwise, the paint can crumble.
to get your idea look at the photos - a pack of cigarettes was used to give the customer an idea of the size of the icon
