Domenico Purificato (Fondi, 14 March 1915 – Rome, 6 November 1984)
In 1936 he exhibited for the first time, in Rome. A versatile artist, from 1940 to 1943 he was editor of the magazine Cinema, in 1940 he wrote a series of articles on the relationship between cinema and painting.
He also became the responsible director in place of Vittorio Mussolini.
In 1953 he participated in the first trade union exhibition of the Roman provincial union joining the National Artists Federation of Rome.
In the post-war period he was the protagonist of the Neorealism in Rome, immortalizing people's paintings, figures and rural scenes of everyday life in his canvases.
He took part in six editions of the Quadriennale of Rome (from 1943 to 1965) and in four editions of the Biennale of Venice (from 1948 to 1954).
