A beautiful large signed oil by french painter and pupil of Jean Leon Gerome - Edouard Paupion. The work is signed lower right and on canvas and beautifully painted and coloured. The work depicts a young girl who has fallen asleep looking after her little sister. A charming work - unlined and unrestored in its original frame.


Provenance: Private Collection-London.
Condition: Very good - unlined and unrestored.

Born 1854, in Dijon; died 1912, in Orchamps (Jura).


Painter. Mythological subjects, genre scenes, portraits.

Édouard Jérôme Paupion, a pupil of Gérôme, first exhibited with portraits at the Salon de Paris in 1877 and was awarded a third-class medal in 1896.
