Mini basketball hand-signed by the shortest player in NBA history with a JSA certificate.
Tyrone Curtis ‘Muggsy’ Bogues (Baltimore, Maryland, 9 January 1965) is a retired American basketball player and coach of the now-defunct WNBA team Charlotte Sting.
He played for four teams during this 14-season career in the NBA but is best known for his period with the Charlotte Hornets. He is one of the best players in NBA history, and also the shortest, with 5 ft 3 in (1.60 m) and 141.10 lb (64 kg). His teams were the Washington Bullets (now Wizards), Charlotte Hornets, Golden State Warriors and Toronto Raptors. Although he was later traded to both the New York Knicks and Dallas Mavericks, he did not play in a game for either team.
Bogues was drafted 12th overall in the 1987 NBA draft by the Washington Bullets. He was part of a talent-laden draft class that also included David Robinson, Reggie Miller, Scottie Pippen, and Kevin Johnson. In his NBA rookie year, Bogues was a teammate of Sudanese Manute Bol (7 ft 7, 2.31 m). Bol was then the tallest player in NBA history. (Later this record was equalled by Gheorghe Muresan.) They appeared together in magazine covers.
