Portuguese box, probably from Portugal, pillbox in 24 K gold thread openwork filigree with enamels and gold-plated chassis. Shell comb and silk tassels.
They are made with the traditional technique of the filigree. It involves manufacturing very fine gold threads and welding them to a gold-plated silver chassis. Dated between 1898-1917.
The box weighs 55 g, and the comb 25 g.
The box is 7 x 4 cm, the comb 11 x 2 x 0.6 cm, and opened 20.5 cm.
