Joseph Tilleux (Antwerp, 1896 - 1978) was a Belgian painter. He was educated at the ‘Academie’ and ‘Het Hoger Instituut’ in Antwerp. He was a student of Frans Courtens ,Frans Hens and A. Ciamberlani. He worked in the studio of Isidore Opsomer (in Lier) until 1921 . He befriended Felix Timmermans and Van Boeckel te Lier. He became a tutor at the Academie in Dendermonde. His preference was for landscapes, country scenes, sea views, still lifes, portraits and city views. In addition to that, he made landscapes in France, Italy, Germany and Spain. He is mentioned in Belgian art books. He is an internationally known painter.
