Condition: Worn binding, missing crowns, joints split on 1 cm, ribbed spine adorned with gilded fleurons (missing the title label and a lack in the leather on the head and tail of the spine), some creased and detached pages, a lack in the leather of the front page, some foxing and soiling, old fountain pen writing on an endpaper.

Book illustrated with a title frontispiece, 1 out of text engraving, 2 vignettes and three engraved letters.

The author dedicated his book to Charles-François Tassy, known as Felix (1635-1703), the first surgeon to King Louis XIV. The book contains a chapter on suction cups and leeches.

Rare book, sold in as is condition.
