Beautiful zamak double image, suggesting a woman in graceful pose with a child at her side attributed to Hippolyte Moreau.
The sculpture is on a marble base. The sculpture has a warm patina.
On the front of the pedestal is a plate with the title “Bataille de fleurs” and the text “Hip. Moreau.”
Hippolyte Moreau is a son of the famous sculpture Jean-Baptiste Moreau and has learned the trade from his father.
Together with his brothers Mathurin and Auguste, he has made many beautiful sculptures.
He exhibited in the “Salon des artistes Francais”. He has gotten a medal at the Exposition Universelle of 1878 and 1900.
Some of his works are housed in the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Dijon.
