A wooden hand-made model sailing vessel in very neat condition.
The ‘Batavia’ was a large Dutch East Indiaman from the 17th century. The wreck is in a museum in Fremantle, Australia. The VOC ship ‘Batavia’ was built between 1627 and 1628 at the Peper Shipyard in Amsterdam. In the period between 1985-1995 a vessel was reconstructed that can be seen at the Batavia Shipyard in Lelystad.
