Description
Umberto Coromaldi (Roma 1870 – Roma 1948) - "Ciociara's Portrait"
Oil on canvas - Hand signed - 1905-1915

BIOGRAPHY:
In 1905 he joined the famous group "the XXV of Roman Country-Side" and painted scenes of country life and from 1910 animals . He had a sketchy, impressionist style, influenced by Mancini, Michetti and slightly by Divisionists . In 1913 C. joined the movement of "Rome Seccession".

AGE: 1905-1915.

EXPERTISE:
On visual and tactile examination, the canvas and the frame seem to be over 100 years old. The pictorial film, examined in direct and oblique light by Wood's Lamp and with cleaning tests performed with light solvents, seems to be over 100 years old, just as the pictorial film seems to be intact and original and the signature seems well attached and compacted to the painting, for which it seems contemporary to the work.
