Beautiful silver cup decorated with a pope’s bust.
The shape and design of this item were likely inspired by the German hunting cups of the 17th and 18th centuries.
Top quality piece, masterly made with realistic details, proportions, movement and expression.
With two hallmarks on the lower, both almost illegible: one is likely the silver fineness mark 800, the other the silversmith mark.
As hallmarks are illegible, item’s origin and dating are not sure: it was probably made in Italy in the mid 20th century.
