Very nice chess set issued by the famous manufacturer Franklin Mint in 1984 in collaboration with the Waterloo Museum.
The pawns are made by the artist Philip J. Haythornthwaite. The chess game depicts the Battle of Waterloo, with the historical figures such as Napoleon, Wellington and the Prince of Orange. The pieces are made in beautiful detail and are in very good condition.
The figures are made of tin, the foot is made of bronze and enamel. The chess pieces are in a slipcase made of wood, the lid is the chessboard.
The accompanying box contains the documentation explaining the Battle of Waterloo and explanations of the different figures.
The slipcase has a size of 34 cm x 34 cm x 7 cm, also look at the corresponding pictures for a good impression of the lot.
