8th light infantry brigade officers report letter with 2 line apostil signed by Marshal of the Empire AUGEREAU Duke of Castiglione ( Charles-pierre-françois) 1757-1816, appointed General in 1793 then Marshal of the Empire by Napoleon and Duke of Castiglione in 1808. Letter signed by the officers of the 8th light infantry brigade with 2 line apostil by Marshal Augereau, General in Chief of the army (“Vue par moi...”). Beautiful red wax seals and effigy of the Republic. Many superior officers’ and officer’s signatures concerning the resignation of this officer of the 8th brigade.
In 1793 Augereau was appointed General (army of the Pyrenees) in 1794 (army of Italy), he took Millesimo (1795), made prisoner the general Austrian Provera, he took hold of Castiglione and Bologna, as well as the bridge of Arcole, he succeeded General HOCHE.
He rallied Bonaparte who sent him to take command of the Franco-Batavian army in Holland. He attended the coronation of Napoleon, close to Napoleon, his name appears on the Arc de Triomphe.
He campaigned also in Austria, Prussia and Spain and died in 1816
