"...Presi dalle Fabbriche più celebri dell'Antica Roma, e posti in uso con un nuovo esattissimo metodo."
Beautiful and interesting file with 4 tables f.t.; 2 are folded and 2 full page. Two other copper plates in the text depict Roman coins + 8 pages of text (corresponding to pp. 135-142 of the work), a nice initial drop cap, headlines and tailpieces; the file has a modern paperback binding; in very good condition, only with a slight redness in some pages (see photo).
The Colosseum is described and illustrated accurately, with measurements, elevations and proportions, by the prelate and man of letters Giuseppe Maria Ercolani, who also dedicated a monograph to the Flavian Amphitheatre.
Rare.
