Carlo Pecorelli lives and works in Jesolo, Venice.
Here, from the sea, a place where the artist is periodically generated and regenerated, he gets, searches, chooses, takes and removes matter that then becomes art.
His painting breaks the pre-established moulds, there are no rules.
Colours belong to him. He loves to put them in lines, geometric shapes and symbols that highlight them and make them unique, one-off.
The world that the artist depicts in his paintings is a world that he doesn’t love very much.
But he accepts it with consistency and simplicity, or he fights it, sometimes like a crusader, sometimes like Don Quixote.
Maybe he is fascinated because of the close bond he has with Jesolo, Venice, with its typical views, its “campielli”, its “calli”, its masks.
