Ghandara Stucco Male Head
Gandhara, 3rd/4th century AD - Middle East

Cap-bearing male head, possibly from an attendant. The sideward turned face is rendered with swollen eyelids closing the eyes to slits, an aquiline nose and a neat moustache around the sullen mouth.
The melon-like cap with strains of hair looking underneath.
Yellow-ochre incarnate with faint red pigment in places.

Size: H. 4.9 cm, H. with stand 12.5 cm

Condition: Fine condition. Broken at the neck level.
