Very good - 1915

Mannlicher M 1895 Infantry rifle. s# 8896 QQ on crossguard. Very nice straight blued T form blade with Dutch maker's name HEMBRUG on ricasso and inspection marking Z under a crown on reverse side.
Blued steel pommel and crossguard with muzzle ring MRD 14mm with the ring locking system in perfect working order.
Dark brown leather scabbard, but without the retaining strap and the end has no copper knob.

After 1915 these bayonets were produced by HEMBRUG in the Netherlands.

After the German invasion of the Netherlands during the second world war (May 1940), the Dutch M95 bayonets were provided to Dutchmen who were prepared to fight on the German side. According to a German document dating from November 23, 1942, the Dutch M95 bayonet was called the Seitengewehr 104 (h).

They were also used by KNIL troops in the Dutch East Indies (Indonesia) before World War 2.
