Authentic WW2 Imperial Japanese navy officer poniard "Naval Kaigun Tanken", M. 1883. For a Japanese Navy officer "Naval Kaigun Tanken" was a symbol of pride and honour. Handforged blade (Showa period 1926-1945) Hira-zukuri form with Bohi engravings, mumei), "Suguha Hamon" with deep temper in the point. The tsuka is covered with polished white rayskin and the saya with finely polished brown ryeskin. The brass fittings of the koshirae are all in good conition, no rust, beautiful patina. Adorned with delicate cherry blossom pattern and the pommel cap shows a single "five leaves" cherry blossom, the closure is still functioning perfectly. "Nagasa": 23 cm, lengtg in koshirae: 39.5 cm. This "Naval Kaigun Tanken" is in very good condition. Will be shipped by insured mail (except to Russia and China).
