A beautiful life-size marble sculpture of a foot with a typical feature that was popular with ancient Greek sculptors' preference for bare feet exhibiting a second toe longer than the hallux and a slightly retraced little toe, which influenced artists during the height of the Roman Empire.
The toes show beautiful erosion of the marble, covered by a somewhat yellowish patina. On the bottom one can see that the foot once was part of a larger whole and was sawn out of a larger pedestal base, possibly done during the 19th century.
