1904 Ebina Masao was born in Kyoto as a child of painter Ebina choko(海老名長紅)
1933 Graduated from Kyoto City Art School
1935 Graduated Kyoto Municipal College of Painting and Studied in Kikuchi keigetsu(菊池契月)
1937 The work “Sou” was selected
1955 Studied in Uda tekison(宇田荻邨)

Participated mainly in the Nitten and Kyo exhibitions, and won the Shouju Award in 53 and the Special Shirato Award in 56 and 70, respectively.
He is famous for the 54 Chapters of Genji series published in the 1950s.
