Japan - Munei ( Autentic ) - SHINSHINTO Officer japanese WW2 - Katana - Sabre

Item description: I am pleased to offer this original handmade Samurai sword relic of officers from the Japanese World War II army. The leaf represents the opportunity to possess a historical Shinto katana with an ancestral forged blade and hand polished. The blade and the anchors are in good condition because of the age they have. It has a length of 91.5 cm The sword offers a beautiful aesthetic.

The spike is not signed is Munei because of the design of the blade, type of polishing and cutting edge, it could be said that it dates from the 18th century, its curvature and thickness make it more similar to a koto, many master swords did not put their signature on the sword to avoid being directed to private forges.

The blade comes in original Samurai mounts. They are in good condition. The tsuka has a thin and muscular skin and a long menuki tiger. The Tachi type, tsuba is a good job with flowers, thick sukashi tsuba. There are two that separate. The saya (sheath) is made of wood with a customized design of brown lacquered in jaspers descending tones and colors and bronze and copper protections. It shows some cracks and scratches while maintaining ~ 94-96% original finish. In particular, there are one or some exceptionally small nicks, some that do not rust and some scratches along the leaves. There are no major failures like the hagire.

Taking into account age, history and quality craftsmanship, I recommend this work to a collector of WW2 militaria or Japanese swords.

Here are detailed measurements for the sword:

Total length: 105.5 cm

Nagasa and nakago: 67 cm
