Demarco - Max Le Verrier - Sagittarius 'Atalante'

Demarco - Max Le Verrier - Sagittarius 'Atalante'
France - 1920-1949 - Patinated metal

Beautiful depicted image of Atalante who uses her bow.

The story:

The sculpture 'Atalante' is derived from the Greek mythological story about a king's daughter who wanted to be a better warrior than a man because her father would have preferred to have a son instead of a daughter.

Soon it turned out that Atalante was an agile huntress, and very quick. She wanted to measure herself with the men: she was determined to be faster! The men were amazed. Atalante later proved itself by killing Centaurs with two quick arrows.

Insured shipping up to 5,500 included.
