Antique wooden sculpture of the Lamb of God.
At the top, on the back of the sheep’s head, there probably used to be a symbol that is now missing.
Agnus Dei is a figure of a lamb, which represents the symbol of Jesus as lamb of God.
This depiction is often used in Christian artworks, of which the adoration of the lamb of God in Ghent is the most famous.
Dimensions foot 32 x 7 cm.
Height 17 cm.
