375 Yellow gold - Unusual natural Green Apatite solitaire gold ring - 1.27 ct

Description
375 Yellow gold - Unusual natural Green Apatite solitaire gold ring - 1.27 ct
Size: O US 7.5 EU 551/4 - Total weight: 2 g

This is the most unusual green i have seen in a gemstone. Too vivid for emerald, too bright to be tourmaline. This gemstone is known to light up in the dark being florescent and yet yo can almost see in to the centre and through it. The cutting of this Apatite is phenomenal. Peacock hues. I wager yo wouldnt find anyone else wearing this gemstone at the same time as you.

Green apatites and those with a “neon” blue-green color, similar to that of Paraíba tourmalines, command the highest prices. Rare, rich purple specimens from Maine are also highly prized.

Since apatites are relatively soft stones, skilled faceters can add a premium to their value with exceptional polishes.

As with most gems, color saturation, size, and clarity are the major determiners of value.

Fluorescent and transparent.
