Very special and beautiful Art nouveau cachepot with a decoration of beige green drip glaze that will get the attention of many visitors to your home.
The cachepot can be identified with certainty as produced by the Faïenceries de Thulin during the early 1920s-1930s.
At one time the Borinage had a lot of ceramic studios. The ceramic industry especially flourished during the interwar period. Also in Thulin, where a Faiencerie was already active in 1863. The company closed its doors in 1970. At the peak of the production, in the 1920s, they had more than 120 employees!
The vases are depicted in the book ‘Waals aardewerk voor de huiskamer de productie van de S.A. des Faïenceries de Thulin’
The vases have a wonderful running or dripping glaze in a more than decent quality from the years 1923-1930s and they are in a very good condition.
