Tomioka Eisen was born in Nagano Prefecture.At first he was studying painting on his own.At the age of 18, He studied Ukiyo-e under Kobayashi Eitaku.
It also had an impact on Kaburagi kiyokata.
Tomioka Eisen also draws novel illustrations.
