Tsutsui Toshimine was born in 1868 as a child of a merchant's house in Hyogo Prefecture.
He liked painting since I was a child and studied painting by myself until 1887.
At first he tried to become a disciple of Kawanabe Kyosai. However, because he was refused, he became an apprentice of Yoshitoshi Tsukioka.
Apart from that, I was also taught by a person from Shijo school.
And this picture was used as anovel illustrations for the magazine “Literature Club” published around the Meiji period.
Many works remain from 1891-1912.
