Jean-François-Theodore Gechter is a French sculptor, born in Paris in 1795 and died in the same city on 11 December 1844, a student of François Joseph Bosio and Baron Gros.
His first exhibition, which took place in 1824, was focused on classical and mythological subjects. From 1830, he will move on to smaller sculptures and animal themes.
Superb sculpture depicting a wild boar hunter scene accompanied by 3 dogs.
Very nice patina (the photos were taken in different places to give a better overview of the patina. The latest photos are closer to the real look, the first ones seem too exposed to light.)
