Original woodblock print - Toyohara Kunichika (1835-1900) - Actors Sawamura Tanosuke III and Onoe Kôzô II - The syllable 'ro' - "Gishi uchiiri no zu" - 1872

The print is signed: "Kunichika ga" in a Toshidama cartouche.
Published in 1872 (Meiji 5) 8th month (date stamp) by Yamamura Kôjirô in Edo.

It is an actor print with Sawamura Tanosuke III as Oishi Chikara Yoshikane 大石主税良金, one of the 47 ronin in the drama "Kanadehon Chūshingura" (仮 名手 本 忠臣 蔵)
and Onoe Kôzô as Mimura Shiro.

Condition: is good with a small support at the back right upper corner. Beautiful print quality, full lines, Bokashi at the height of the eyes. Remnants of the backing at the reverse side.
