Mask - Wood - Lele - Kuba - Congo DRC

Description
Mask - Wood - Lele - Kuba - Congo DRC
2nd half 20th century - Good condition, used with some signs of wear

We are more used to see these Kuba Lele polychrome masks without their accompanying headdress. In Africa, the wood of the mask is only one element of the complete set destined to dance.
This type of mask is flat, the eyes are slit and the polychromy is black, red and white.

Semi-hard wood, raffia, feathers.
