Raadvad Breadcutter 294 white/green, short model, with royal crown.
Danish Design Icon by RAADVAD
There is a very good reason why the Raadvad breadslicer has become such an iconic design and is famous worldwide. It combines function, aesthetics, and longevity so beautifully and convincing.
Raadvad commissioned the Danish designer Ove Larsen in 1933 to design a breadslicer for them. As far as I could find out it came on the market in 1939. And it is this famous model you have here with the name Raadvad and the Royal crowns in low relief and the lovely shaped handle. I love it! And it really works so great!
The breadslicer only changed a little over the next decades. Around 1960s or 70s the design was simplified. The Royal crowns disappeared, the handle got a more simple shape.
