B.M.Trevisan was born in Gorizia on 26th March 1901. His debut was in 1921 at the Luigi Rosolen art gallery in Gorizia. He became part of the Futurist movement. In 1932 with T. Crali he decorated the theatre hall of Casa del Dopolavoro in Quisca (Kojsko, Slovenia). In the 1930s, when he developed a synthetic and essential expressive language, T. participated in the exhibitions held in Gorizia and Trieste by the Fascist Trade Union of Fine Arts. In 1936 he fought in Africa and precisely in the Ethiopian war to which this picture refers. In 1946, he exhibited at the exhibition of painters from Friuli curated by Antonio Marangoni. In 1976, he had a retrospective exhibition set up in Gradisca d’Isonzo. He died in Gorizia on 11th July 1984.
