Unusual King George VI 1940 antique sterling silver large round hinged box.
Quite rare because made during World War II when precious metals were scarce

Fully hallmarked Birmingham Assay Office guarantee together with "Q" date letter for 1940 and S. Blanckensee & Son Ltd silversmith's mark

In clean original 79 years old condition.
There are absolutely no parts missing but I consider it in poor condition because of several bumps you can see in pictures that are part of the description.
World War II has left its stigma all over Europe as well as on this box.
