In 1963, the Italian art collector Giuseppe Albaretto asked his friend Salvador Dali to illustrate the Bible...
Between 1964 and 1967, Dali will create 105 watercolours that will serve as a model for the 105 mixed techniques which illustrate the original edition of the BIBLIA SACRA in five magnificent leather volumes edited by RIZZOLI in Milan. Each lithograph is loose in the book.
Each lithograph is signed and dates in the plate.
The ' 105 illustrations are reproduced and referenced in:
The Official Catalogue of The Graphic Works of Salvador Dali, by Albert Field

Salvador Dali, is unanimously recognized as the greatest surrealist artist, one of the greatest artists of the 20th century and definitively the most charismatic. The artwork on sale is part of a collection of rarities which are not very often or even never exhibited. The collection consists mainly of paintings and lesser-known drawings from many periods of the most prolific artist of our time.
All these works are not always the most ‘beautiful’ in the aesthetic sense of the word, even though beauty is permanent in Dali’s work. They are all interesting, very exciting, each one is representing a part of the journey of this artist who has an overflowing, abundant, delusional imagination. These are all testimonies of the history of this genuine creative genius.
To be discovered. With rare exceptions, I only own one copy of each.
