A beautiful view of the Wadden sea with a view of Terschelling from the famous wildlife painter Ron Meilof, with a frame made by him.
Painter Ron Meilof was born on 23 January 1953 in Hilversum and died on 14 February 2016 in Hijken.
In his childhood, his creativity and talent for drawing quickly became clear.
Moreover, he was already taught drawing at a young age by his grandfather Hepke.
Around his eighteenth Ron was a ladies hairdresser in the Gooi. In 1971 he met Dick de Vries (1948).
Dick was a professional painter. From him, Ron learned the technique of fine painting. Because of his love for the great outdoors, he decided to move to Drenthe in 1975.
There he bought a farm to keep his horses. In addition, photography and playing the guitar were his other hobbies.
Making photographs of landscapes, seascapes, birds and other animals, was a very important part of his job. In 1992, he joined the Enschede Artists Collective. An Association of the most talented painters in the Netherlands.
Ron’s paintings are very detailed and true to nature. Ron made study trips to Kenya and Tanzania to study African wildlife. Ron Meilof is counted among the world’s best wildlife painters.
