Beautiful pristine, ready–to–use saddle blanket from Ersari Yomut nomads.
Turkmenistan or Uzbekistan.
Unique about this blanket is that it's knotted, usually they are made from a flat strong textile – called Jajim. It looks like kilim.
But it’s knotted by hand – in a very high and dense quality.
And that is rare.
Mid 20th century, now also very expensive there.
The people there are prosperous, on a West European level.
And horses are certainly a symbol for status there.
Beautiful shine in the wool, natural vegetable dyes are used.
