Nicolas Eekman - La lucarne du poète

Description
Nicolas Eekman - La lucarne du poète
Ink drawing - Hand signed

Black ink illustration on paper by Dutch figurative painter Nicolas Mathieu Eekman (1889-1973). This very dark expressionist work represents an old man looking through a skylight at a tree where a hanged man, animals, insects and characters stand alongside.
This illustration titled ‘La lucarne du poète’ (in the left margin) belongs to the artist's Parisian period. Signed ‘Eekman’ and with two virtually illegible symbols and annotations in the bottom left-hand corner. Modern frame, very simple, plastic glass.
1930/1940s, France.

In fairly good condition; the work has been damaged; there are missing pieces of thick paper, little tears, little holes and the bottom right-hand corner is split. The pictures are part of the description and give a proper impression of the condition of the lot.

Size:
- Frame: 60 x 50 x 2 cm.
- Design: 53 x 40 cm.

Insured shipment, secure and professional packaging.
