Albert Jurardus van Prooijen (1834-1898) - Man bij mededelingenbord

Description
Albert Jurardus van Prooijen (1834-1898) - Man bij mededelingenbord
Oil on panel - Hand signed - Onbekend

Albert Jurardus van Prooijen is best known for his Dutch landscapes with cattle, a popular 19th century genre. In addition to landscapes, the artist initially also painted marines and cityscapes: between 1860 and 1868 mostly from his hometown of Groningen, then in Deventer, Zutphen, Vorden and Vaassen. His love, however, went mainly to meadows with cows. His youth work concludes some detailed painting style within the Romance movement. After 1870, he painted with a somewhat rougher touch.
