Carlos Nadal (1917-1998) is considered one of the last Fauvis" artists, with connections to Picasso, Miro, Magritte, Braque and other major European artists of the twentieth century.

The use of intense use of colors where the red sky and the rest of vivid colors in this drawing it is characteristic of Fauvism.

His style profoundly influenced by Raoul Dufy, Here it depicts a marina which is a recurring subject for both artists. Also in the usage of a technique known as stenographic where skeletal structures, arranged with foreshortened perspective and the use of thin washes of color applied quickly.

This paint is an excellent example of the work and the style of Carlos Nadal.
