Kurdish runner from the Malataya area.
Authentic piece, not made for tourists.
Shavak tribe, Malataya, Turkey.
1st quarter 20th century.
Size: 470 x 112 cm
Kilim heads. Intact
Original and undamaged edges.
For its advanced age, 80 to 90 years, in very good condition, beautiful, fairly high and tight pile.
Bottom Gul is slightly more walked-on but definitely not worn through.
Has not been cleaned, but it can be done upon request, for an extra €150.00.

The Kurds of the Shavak tribe north of Elaziğ (pronounce as Elaziii)
made these runners.
Characteristic are the cross-shaped "Guls".
These rugs are rare.
