Edition Synagoge Stommeln, Pulheim 1992. Black cloth box, blind stamped with three inlays: A signed black & white photograph of the work „The Drowned and the Saved“, the artist book „The Drowned and the Saved“ designed by Serra & his wife & a short introduction. The edition is not numbered, but is limited to 80 copies (edition homepage). All items, the box and inlays, are in flawless mint condition, careful stored as archive copy.
A) Original monochrome photograph (177 x 208 mm), mounted under mat and signed by Serra in pencil at lower right.
B) Artist book: 210 x 210 mm, 32 pages. Printed title with introduction by Gerhard Dornseifer verso, map of synagogues in Erftkreis before 1938, text and 9 monochrome reproductions of photographs, Serra's explanatory text, biography, exhibition history and publication details; printed text in German (with English translation of Serra's text). The catalogue was designed by Serra together with Clara Weyergraf-Serra.
