ROVIRA: marker from Barcelona in the 19th century. There are plenty of items from Barcelona with this mark and they date from the last quarter of the 19th century. It must be well noted that in 1871 the marker using the initials ‘B y R’ was still in use, as mark from the city and he used the shield of Barcelona. His punch consists of his surname written in a line ‘ROVIRA’. The works by Catalan silversmiths are very highly regarded, especially those from the 18th and 19th centuries. Among the most appreciated marks is the one by ROVIRA.
