A high-quality Japanese (Aichi Prefecture) brownish green 'tamadare' (dripping) glazed probably Seto-'yaki' so-called 'Suhama-gata' (shoreline shaped) 'raku' (hand-shaped tea bowl) intended for the green tea ceremony.

Meiji/Taisho, ca 1910-1920,

ca 5.8 cm. high, 11.7 cm. long and 10.7 wide

the underside and foot ring unglazed, foot ring chips (see image #12).
